Lip Filler Aftercare Tips

• Stay hydrated – Drink plenty of water to help the filler settle and keep lips looking their best.

• Use ice packs gently – Apply a cold compress (wrapped in a cloth) for short periods to help reduce swelling.

• Avoid touching or massaging your lips unless instructed to do so.

• No lipstick or lip balm for 24 hours (unless a sterile healing balm is recommended).

• Avoid alcohol, spicy foods, and smoking for 24–48 hours to prevent irritation and excessive swelling.

• No strenuous exercise, saunas, or sunbeds for 24–48 hours.

• Sleep on your back with your head elevated the first night if possible, to minimise swelling.

What’s Normal?

• Mild swelling or bruising for up to 5 days

• Slight unevenness during healing (the filler is settling)

• Lips may feel firm or lumpy at first — they’ll soften naturally over 1–2 weeks

Does it hurt?

A numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the treatment as slightly stingy or pinchy but very tolerable.

Will my lips look fake or overdone?

How much filler will I need?
